Program Description

The Indian Township Child Care & Development Program subsidizes preschool and before- and after-school services for children ages six weeks to 12 years.

ELIGIBILTY:

Must be a member of the Passamaquoddy Tribe at Indian Township- I.e., a stepchild, adopted child -(Passamaquoddy), or a descendant (two generations back) between six weeks to 12 years old.
Must reside on the reservation or within the service area.
Must have a household income at or below 85% of the State Median Income for a family of the same size.
Resides with a parent, foster parent, or guardian working (minimum 20 hours a week ), attending job training (traditional trade), attending an educational program (minimum 12 credits), parent/s attending a rehab program, or receiving or needing protective services.

This program is not a first-come, first-served program.
Eligible families are ranked based on need, family size, and gross income.

1. Children from Families with Very Low Incomes, single-parent/guardian homes, Children receiving protective custody in foster care, and Children with Special Needs will be given priority over other Children otherwise eligible for childcare subsidies.

Once we've reviewed the applicants, families not in the categories above will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis and according to eligibility requirements.

2. All other families are selected on a first come, first served basis based on the date the program received the completed program application and eligibility requirements.
